Cattle Dead After Tractor-trailer Crash

FOUNTAIN, Colo. A tractor-trailer carrying cattle overturns and causes a popular Colorado highway to close lanes.

On Sunday a tractor-trailer carrying about 90 head of cattle overturned near the city of Fountain.

The accident forced the closure of the northbound lanes of I-25.

The truck blew a tire, crossed the median and overturned in the northbound lanes at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Another car crashed into a guardrail as the driver tried to avoid the crash, and a second car crashed into the truck.

Some of the animals were killed and others were hurt, suffering broken legs.

None of the drivers involved was injured.
