Multiple Crews Respond to Car in Colorado River

LOMA, Colo.- An unusual report of a car in the Colorado River sends multiple crews to Loma Monday evening.

Rescue crews received a call about a car in the Colorado River near the Loma boat ramp around 7 p.m.

The Lower Valley Fire District, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, Fruita Police and Grand Junction all responded to the scene.

ICE Rescue Teams were able to recover the driver from the partially submerged vehicle.

She was treated for hypothermia and sent to Saint Mary's Hospital.

Officials continue to investigate the incident and are not ruling out any causes at this time.

The car was on the opposite side of the river, she almost made it to the other side. Again there is no way this was an accident, placing Fire and Sheriff rescue personnel at risk. And now enviromental issues, the cars in the river! Charge her criminally and send her the clean up bill.
