GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Ed Bozarth Chevrolet sale experts say they've seen an increase of about 15 percent from last year in vehicle sales.

They say car sales are usually a sign of the economy coming back, as sales follow the stock market about three months behind.

Sale experts say better sales leads to better profits, keeps more employees and helps contribute to the local economy.

"We do really well in this area with trucks and SUVs typically. But the gas-saving vehicles are starting to catch on and we are selling a lot more of those than we used to. We used to be about a 75 percent truck market and now it's about 50/50 car and truck," said Seth Rosa, general sales manager for the dealership.

And though sales are not where they were before the economy hit a downward slope, Rosa says they are making a come back.

Experts project this year to make another 15 percent increase bringing the total to about a 30 percent gain.
