Capitol Christmas Tree From Meeker Arrives in Washington

WASHINGTON- A Christmas tree from Meeker has ended its cross-country trip to the Capitol.

The 65-foot-tree comes from the White River National Forest.

It even made a stop in Grand Junction before making its way to Washington, D.C.

The tree arrived at the Capitol around 10 a.m. Monday, and it will be decorated with approximately 5,000 ornaments.

It will be lit by House Speaker John Boehner during a ceremony on Dec. 4.

Tree Huggers actually let you cut down a 74 year old tree which housed a bunch birds at one time..How much did it cost taxpayers for shipping this tree to our No.1 man?

And a hearty congratulations to the petroleum industry that refined the thousands of gallons of diesel consumed to drag this tree across the nation. Good job!
