GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The 2012 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will be making an appearance in Grand Junction Thursday morning.

A spruce tree from Colorado was chosen in early November and is on its way to the lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington.

Once there, it will be decorated with more than 5,000 ornaments, handmade by Colorado children in the theme of "celebrating the great outdoors".

Residents can check out the Christmas tree Thursday morning at the Grand Junction Cabela's parking lot.

The truck will be traveling westbound on Interstate 70 and exiting in Clifton.

It will then travel westbound to North Avenue and continue onto Cabela's parking lot.

Officials want to remind residents that there may be temporary traffic interruptions due to the size of the truck.

Aren't those diesel fumes contributing to global warming? Do trees grow in eastern states?
