Dos and Don'ts of Country Jam 2012

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Country Jam 2012 is underway. While the weekend is all about having fun and enjoying the music, event organizers want to make sure everyone stays safe.

Temperatures are expected to get into the triple digits by Friday, so dehydration is one of the main concerns. People are allowed to bring empty water bottles with them. There is a filling station at the concert.

People can also bring chairs, umbrellas, sunscreen, bug spray and prescribed medication.

People cannot bring food, beverages or their pets.

Organizers say it is also extremely important for concert-goers to stay sober if they will be driving. There will be added checkpoints in the city to help lower the amount of drunk driving. Country Jam has a zero tolerance policy for underage drinking.

A great tool for concert-goers is the shuttle system. Shuttles will be leaving from various parts of the city at various times. The round trip cost for the shuttle is $10.

Alcohol served always means someone is going to wreck and this could possibly cause a death. Think of all the children watching adults drinking and 'seeming' to be having fun and then you wonder why children eventually drink and in some cases drive!! Can't people have a good time WITHOUT alcohol? Just saying....
