EAGLE COUNTY, Colo.- Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle accident that happened Saturday around 5:45 a.m. on Forest Service Road 700, about 12 miles east of Highway 131 near Wolcott, Colo.

CSP authorities say a 43-year-old man from Breckenridge was traveling eastbound in a Land Rover on the road, which was icy and covered in snow at the time.

The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway before rolling 134 feet down an embankment. The driver was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The name of the driver has not yet been released.
