Driver of Liquor Store Crash Identified Following Arrest

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- More details are being released about a man who crashed his SUV into a local business, leaving the owners to rebuild for the second time this year.
The driver has been identified as 61-year-old Leland Rust.
Rust was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and driving on a revoked license from a previous alcohol offense.
The accident happened just after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Pete's House of Spirits at 16th Street and North Avenue.
There were two employees inside the store when the crash happened; fortunately, neither of them was injured.
In the arrest affidavit, a witness also describes seeing a bottle of vodka fall out of Rust's car when he got out of his SUV following the crash.
Rust was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries before being transferred to the Mesa County Jail.
