MESA COUNTY, Colo.- On Monday an arm of the Colorado State Patrol delivered 900 pounds in food donations.

The CSP Women's Resource Network has been collecting food across the state for nearly seven weeks.

They dropped it off at the Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies in Grand Junction.

Members of the group say their mission is to enrich the lives of the community that the troopers serve.

"We're not just the status quo ticket writers. We're out there with the communities; we work alongside them. The more partnerships we get, the more they understand us, the more we understand them and their needs. So, we're out here trying to make a positive impact, especially helping those less fortunate," said trooper Bonnie Collins, a member of CSP's Women's Resource Network.

Collins said that partnering with the Food Bank of the Rockies was a natural choice due to their service to the community for the past 34 years and the millions of pounds of foods distributed in that time.

If you would still like to donate, the food bank takes any non-perishable food items, toiletries and monetary gifts.
