GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The best of the best finished out this year's CPRA Finals Championship Rodeo on Sunday.
More than 150 cowboys and cowgirls competed in the three-day event, including 10 from Mesa and Delta counties.
Event officials say they were very pleased with this year's rodeo and looking forward to coming back again next year.
“With the cowboys, its a comradery,” said Bob Williams, rodeo chairman. “They get to see each other, see friends they haven’t seen in a really long time. On the other side of the fence, the spectators, they don’t get to see the western way of life very much, and they like to see the riding.”
The Sheriffs Posse has been sponsoring a rodeo similar to this one since 1954 but has been hosting this particular rodeo for more 10 years.
