CO House Approves Gun Measures

DENVER(AP)- The Colorado House approved new ammunition limits, a ban on concealed weapons on college campuses and expanded background checks Monday.

The Democratic-led House voted to ban large-capacity magazines, placing a limit of 15 rounds for firearms and handguns, and eight for shotguns.

Lawmakers also passed a requirement for background checks on firearm sales between private parties and to ban concealed weapons on public college campuses with a 34-31 vote

Republicans oppose the measures saying they restrict Second Amendment rights and won't prevent mass shootings which the proposals are in response to.

The debate is drawing attention from the White House.

The Colorado Senate still needs to consider the proposals.

wow people are ignorant don't you know gun control saves lives. Just think the next time a psycho gets a hold of a gun everyone can concentrate on hiding under their desks. god knows we wouldn't want anybody to get hurt trying to stop a gunman from a massacre.

So good job, passing unless laws that do nothing to protect anyone! I have close to 300 30 round mags. I think I'm just going to hand them out randomly just to spite this so called law. Not one mass shooting or ANY shooting would have been stopped by these laws.
