CNG Trucks Added to Grand Junction Fleet

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The decision to purchase two new compressed natural gas powered dump trucks to add to the city fleet was made at Wednesday night's Grand Junction City Council meeting.

City staff says Grand Junction will see a 70 percent savings over the cost of diesel and although CNG engines are expensive up front, the savings on fuel would make up the difference.

The motion passed 6-1 with council member Sam Susuras saying he didn't feel it was a smart financial decision.
