CMU Cuts Ties with Cycling Coach After Doping Scandal

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Colorado Mesa University cycling coach has been let go after new information surfaces in a doping scandal.

University officials say that Rick Crawford is no longer the head of the CMU Cycling Program because of his past involvement with performance enhancing drugs.

Earlier this month, Crawford admitted to providing performance enhancing drugs, to two cyclists from 1999 to 2001, while Crawford was still involved in the professional cycling arena.

Crawford was put on a temporary suspension.

School officials were under the assumption that he had fully disclosed all of his past involvement with doping, until more information was recently brought forward.

CMU President Tim Foster is calling the revelations "incredibly disappointing."

Really, Tim? You'd be surprised to know what's going on up there.
