CBI Implements Plan to Reduce Queue for Firearms Checks

DENVER- The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is taking steps to clear the existing wait for firearms checks.

They're planning to redirect resources within the bureau and extend the operating hours for InstaCheck's.

According to officials, last month's firearm background checks in Colorado topped 1,100 per day. But the CBI had projected levels of 1,500 per day.

Officials say this slight reduction will allow teams to deal with the existing backlog in a quicker manner.

A CBI spokesman says the wait-time can probably be reduced in a short period of time, as long as there is not a new surge in background-check requests.

The State of Colorado cannot even handle plating motor vehicles properly, why oh why would we ever think they could handle this task?
