Bunnies Causing Damage to Cars at Denver International Airport

DENVER - When you think of the Denver International Airport, one thing that might not come to your mind is bunnies. Airport officials say they're becoming a big problem for the airport.

Passengers who park at DIA have been reporting that bunnies are causing thousands of dollars in damage to cars by eating wires and spark plugs under the hood.

The USDA Wildlife Service is removing at least 100 bunnies every month but the problem persists.

The parking lot employees are also taking action to keep the bunnies out of vehicles by installing new fencing to make it harder for the bunnies to burrow under.

According to our sister station KCNC, local mechanics are also giving drivers a secret weapon: coyote urine. They are coating car wires with the substance that you can pick up fox urine at any hunting shop.

In case you're wondering, most insurance companies will not cover the costs of rabbit damage.

Not cute little bunnies. I guess if you hunted them and ate them, there wouldn't be so many. Oops, I forgot you can't hunt bunnies by the airport. I guess we'll just have to pay for "mitigation" and the increased insurance costs. Boy, bureaucrats sure know how to mess things up, don't they. Maybe they aren't really bunnies, but bureaucrats. After all they both destroy property and multiply at a horrific rate.
