Automatic Spending Cuts May Be What Country Needs

by KREX News Room

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Unless congress agrees on a deal, automatic spending cuts will take place on March 1. Some believe this is what the country needs.

The cuts would impact every American in some way, ranging from Head Start programs to federal employees to senior programs. However, some say the money cut from the budget could go a long way in cutting down the deficit.

Lois Dunn, chair of the Mesa County Republicans, said, "We do need to do something and I don't think it's quite as draconian as they say. And over a period of time if this cut did stay in place, the 10 percent, it would make a difference over 10 years."

Congress has until Friday to come up with a solution. If not, the federal government starts cutting $85 billion over the rest of the fiscal year.

Quite the opposite. We are trying to keep the Marxist-progressives from ramming the Titanic into the iceberg.
