GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The remaining two programs for the inaugural Broadway at the Avalon Series will not be produced and performed this year as expected.

Broadway at the Avalon already produced "Cats" and "Forever Plaid."

However, according to Debbie Kovalik, department director for Grand Junction's Economic, Convention and Visitor Services, the royalty requirements for "Miss Saigon" and "Oliver" exceeded the available resources.

Season ticket patrons will receive full refunds for the remainder of the 2012 series.

For additional information, ticket holders are asked to contact the Avalon Theatre at 970-263-5700.

If tickets were purchased from Monumental Events, you can contact them at 877-434-8497.

If this doesn't foreshadow what a mess the "arts" are in nothing will. Top level shows, nothing but crickets for an audience. What does the City say? Here's 3 million. What does the DDA say? Hers's 3 million. What does the community say? Build more parks! And build them for recreation NOT habitation for more bums!
