Breakfast After the Bell Bill Wins Initial Approval in House

by KREX News Room

DENVER(AP)- More schools would serve breakfast after the school bell under a bill that has won initial approval in the Colorado House.

The legislation would require schools that have 70 percent of more students who qualify for free or reduced lunch to serve breakfast after the first bell of the day.

Schools already serve breakfast, but some youth advocates say more students would eat breakfast if they don't have to arrive at school early.

One more vote is required before the measure heads to the Senate.

Why not just cancel classes entirely and turn the school into a soup line?
