Body Recovered After Sunday Avalanche

GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo.- Gunnison County Authorities recover the body of a missing man who died in an avalanche Sunday afternoon near Marble.

According to the Gunnison County Sheriff's office, a helicopter successfully recovered the remains of 37-year-old James Lindenblatt, of Summit County.

It was reported that the entire basin was unstable, as well as the immediate location of his body.

In the released report, two men were with Lindenblatt when the avalanche happened.

They were able to locate his body and dig him out of the compacted snow but he was already dead.

They believed that he had died from trauma experienced in the violence of the avalanche.

All personnel involved in the recovery operation were not injured.
