Body Found in Aspen Highlands

PITKIN COUNTY, Colo.- A snowboarder finds a body on the Aspen Highlands, where a skier had been reported missing earlier this month.

Authorities say a firearm was found with the body... and a preliminary investigation reveals injuries consistent with those from a gunshot.

However, the cause and manner of death, along with the body's identity, are still unknown.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

The skier's body was discovered Wednesday afternoon by a snowboarder who had been in the area searching for missing Aspen resident Jeff Walker.
