Body Found in Canal Near I-70

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A body was found in a canal off 27 Road near Interstate 70 on Sunday.

Grand Junction police told NewsChannel 5 they responded to the scene around 6 p.m. when a couple walking a dog noticed what appeared to be a body in the canal.

Authorities have confirmed it was a deceased person, but have not identified the body yet.

A vehicle had been found near the area of 28 Road south of the interstate.

The vehicle belonged to a man who was reported missing last week, but officials have not said if there is any correlation between the two incidents.

I can not believe your tabloid journalism, Showing the sheet with the body under it, It was not only disrespectful to the family of this poor man but to Infer the connection to the missing man from last week lacks Credibility and tact on your part.Is your new slogan "KREX Rumors you can count on." We don't need your type of trash news. I saw the Sentinel & KKCO-TV and they both had Tasteful and Respectful Photos & Video. your FACTS we don't need no stinking FACTS NEWS is not for the grand valley. I hope that you loose as many viewers as you have lost my respect for your news.

To Janet, you are really disturbed and upset about them showing a blanket covered corpse? When you can see terrorists dragging and killing americans all over CNN, Fox, and other major news sources. Hope you sent them all similar messages. Krex is great, only news I watch here in the Grand Valley. Get over yourself, glad you are no longer a watcher, now I no longer have to see any of your blabber filled comments.

I'm glad the media was not there when my nephew's body was recovered from the Colorado river last year. Yeah he's gone, but privacy of the family is important too. Colondences to the family.....Grego
