GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- It's no secret that blood is always needed. However, the Red Cross says blood donations are at their lowest level in 15 years.

Anyone who is eligible is urged to give blood. All blood types are needed. People with blood types O negative, O positive, A negative or B negative are especially encouraged to give right now.

Individuals who are 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may also be eligible to donate.

No appointment is needed to donate at St. Mary's Hospital. People can donate blood Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon.
