Black Friday Deals Draws Large Crowds at Mesa Mall

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Thanksgiving dinner may be over, but the second part of the holiday is underway.

Crowds of people piled into stores all night on Thursday, and early Friday morning for this year's Black Friday frenzy.

“I’ve been doing Black Friday for as long as I can remember,” said
Rebecca Bendele, Black Friday shopper. “It just became a tradition and we didn't do it last year just because of how crazy it was and it felt like something was missing from my holiday.”

The holiday had an army full of residents of all ages battling for a good sale in Grand Junction super stores like Target, Walmart and Best Buy.

“I like deals, ya know,” said Liberty Martinez, Black Friday shopper.

But some folks, like Grand Junction resident Ashley Frasco, they came to socialize and take the whole thing in.

“It gives us a break from the kids, to go shopping for them and gives us an excuse to go hang out with each other,” said Frasco.

This is the second year Frasco has been Black Friday shopping with her best friend. But for them, the tradition has absolutely nothing to do with a sale.

“We just come grab stuff and if we are finished, we're finished, if not, we finish it later,” said Frasco.

However, most people seemed to have not wanted to walk away without a bargain to brag about.

“I can honestly say that everything that I have gotten, not only in Target but Walmart and Kmart, I have saved more than half, at least 75 percent on everything,” said Bendele

With savings like that, it's no wonder every year people are full of turkey but still hungry for deals.

Persona non Grata: If you honestly don't have something nice to say, don't say it. I, for one, am not completely materialistic, and I would rather MAKE any gift I give for any holiday/birthday. This yr, I am not able to do so because it costs more to get any and all materials needed. I'm sorry you feel you have to put people down for shopping for their family and friends.

What a bunch of spoiled, materialistic, effing brats in this world.
