Bill Takes Aim At Indefinite Detainment Under Military Law

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Representative Jared Wright, is introducing a bill that would give everyone the right to have a speedy trial and see a judge.

Wright says last year congress passed a bill called the National Defense Authorization Act, and in section 1021, authority is given to the president and congress to indefinitely detain any American citizen without due process if arrested under military law.

"If a citizen is arrested under military law, military law doesn't apply the same rights that we have under the constitution; to a trial, to an attorney, and other rights, basically Habeas Corpus. So, this is extending the rights that we already have, and reinforcing the rights that we already have, that should not have ever been taken away by congress," said Wright.

The bill would stop any agency whether it be local or state law enforcement, or the National Guard, from participating with the federal agency in the arrest of U.S. citizens under section 1021.

The bill is bi-partisan, and being supported by Dem. Jesse Ulibarri, State Senate for District 21.

The first hearing on the bill will be Feb. 14.

Hmmmm....Currently rethinking my opinion of Representative Wright. Despite the mud slinging of the campaign, he is doing job looking out for his constituents. Perhaps if more people knew about the fascist ndaa (that's your cue media), they would support Wright's attempt to protect us.

Ah Jared, it was a good idea, the only mistake was involving a democrat. It is obvious from their actions and statements that the democrats are the sworn enemies of America and The Constitution.
