Bill Would Give Business Tax Refund Extension

by KREX News Room

DENVER - House Bill 1099 seeks to extend the period during which business owners can file refunds for overpaid sales and use taxes.

Currently, the state can audit tax refunds for three years after a tax return is filed, but applications for certain refunds can only be made two years after a tax return is filed. The measure would extend that to three years.

Proponents to the bill say this simple solution works toward the interests of job creators.
