Bicyclist Hit by Truck in Delta, Later Dies at Hospital

DELTA, Colo. Police are investigating the death of a bicyclist hit on Highway 92 in Delta.

According to the Delta Police Department, authorities got a call Wednesday night just before 8 p.m., that a bicyclist was hit by a car.

When officials arrived at Highway 92 and Henrie Street, they found a male rider with serious injuries.

According to authorities, 63-year-old Craig Hampton of Delta had been riding east on Highway 92 when he was struck by a pick up truck driven by a 60-year-old man from Eckert.

Hampton was transported to St. Mary's Hospital by CareFlight, and later passed away.

The incident is still under investigation.
