Bennet, Udall Undecided on Assault Weapons Ban

DENVER (AP) - Colorado's senators haven't decided whether to support a Democratic push to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines like those used in the Newtown, Conn. school massacre.

Sens. Michael Bennet and Mark Udall told The Denver Post that they want to study the proposal from Sen. Diane Feinstein to see if it is in line with Colorado values.

Meanwhile, congressman Ed Perlmutter said Thursday that he would introduce the House version of the proposal. His office released a letter in support of the measure from the families of seven people killed in July's Aurora movie theater shooting.

Another Colorado Democratic congressman, Jared Polis, thinks that banning law-abiding people from possessing weapons violates the Second Amendment.

None of Colorado's four Republican congressmen are expected to support the proposal.

Sen Bennet? Sen. Udall? Didn't these fellows vote yes on the job-killing travesty known as Obummercare that was passed under cover of darkness and holiday by democrat hacks on Christmas Eve, 2009?

I hope that Sens. Bennet and Udall stand with Jared Polis against the weapons ban. It's been proven to be the wrong way to go, and this kind of kneejerk reaction is a simple way to appease the public without really creating any meaningful change. If you want to address the issue meaningfully, go back and do the research -- if dealers were mandated to report inventories, something that that they were protected from doing decades ago, the government could zero in on the small percentage of unscrupulous dealers who are funneling guns to criminals. The overwhelming majority of major shootings have been perpetrated by mentally ill shooters with little to no criminal record. Don't over-legislate something that a weapons/magazine ban will not resolve - use your creativity to enact a meaningful change in how weapons get distributed. Thank you.

These guys aren't undecided, they just haven't been given their orders yet for their leader. Of course they will be for the ban when they are told to be.

The reason the two senators are undecided is not that they are against the measure, it is because they are trying to make themselves look like the good guys for voting for it. The dems are working overtime to bring the US into the one world order. Their initiation project is to disarm the American people before they are allowed to become full members. EVERY, anti-gun measure passed has always been aimed at law-abiding people, the criminal element is nothing less than an ally, to any government seeking to disarm its people.

Lets see, They want to ban semiautomatic weapons and ultimately disarm the law abiding american public after approving the gift of 20 F-16 fighter jets and 200 abrams tanks to Egypt whose current leader calls the US and Israel the enemies of Egypt. The insane ones are in DC. God help us all.
