Gun Background Check Wait Times Reach 100 Hours

by KREX News Room
by Meaghan Wallace

DENVER - A spike in requests for background checks on firearms buyers in Colorado is slowing down the system that businesses use to track how long the checks will take.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation's online wait-time clock for background checks tops out at 99 hours and 59 minutes.

The Denver Post reports the wait, which used to be minutes, is now more than 100 hours, leaving potential buyers to guess on exact wait times.

Requests for background checks has spiked after the school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

The delay comes as the Tanner Gun Show set to start this weekend. The show's co-owner Ty Blount says the lag means dealers will either mail a gun to a customer or meet the customer again later once the background check has cleared.

Do yourself a favor, put down the pipe, turn off CNN and come back to reality.

Liberals have no concept of conscience, thats why they can create "No Gun Zones"/killing zones, they're pretty smart that way. They have no idea of safe and secure except the idea of no one having any guns except them, their private armys, and their allies the criminal element. Hitler had the SS, the soviets had the Russian Mafia ect. ect. Obama has been working on his own private army, they are called "illegal imigrants" who come accross our border armed. Many of those are from the middle east, local LE can vouch for that. One of the biggest enemys we have is the MSM, those who throw away truth for ratings and wealth are worse than the politicians. Shameful bunch of people. Why use guns when they can destroy the nation with lies?

Man, where is Chick-Fil-A when you need them? I mean think about it, if the gun purchaser would just receive a "family values" chicken sandwich at the end of the 100 hr. wait, I hardy think we would hear a peep from these crybabies! C'mon Chick-Fil-A-- Help these poor people out. ;-)

What is the FBI/NICS wait time? If the FBI is processing requests in a few minutes/hours and Colorado Bureau of Investigation is taking much longer, then there is grounds for a lawsuit and an investigation. If the "journalists" were ethical, they would be leading the charge. But since the chattering class is part of the Left, we'll have to do it the hard way. Maybe there's an e-mail or memo showing some criminal action on the part of a bureaucrat or Hickenlooper.

No doubt this is intentional. They can't immediately legislate so they artificially slow the process. I cannot recall any previous president being so reviled as this one, and he isn't done yet.

Welcome to the first step in taking away guns. Make the process so undesirable most people won't do it. And once people become annoyed with the process, the administration will claim they have a mandate and "the people have spoken" they no longer want guns. But you could bet money, if they had a new tax or regulation they wanted to push, it would be they easiest most streamlined process imaginable. Oh and one more thing, welcome to a glimpse into how going to the doctor is going to be like, under Obamacare, I sure hope you liberals are happy.

Why is this a surprise? The State of Colorado is has no core competency and should be defunded. Look at the situation at the D.M.V. And B.T.W. requests for background checks didn't spike until communists unfit for the office they hold stated they wanted to take away every American citizens Second Amendment rights, glad I could clear up that misconception, your welcome.
