GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Bureau of Land Management plans on starting the second phase of rebuilding destroyed vegetation in the Pine Ridge Fire burn area.

The BLM plans to begin aerial reseeding operations this week to take advantage of snow cover and the spring growing season.

The Pine Ridge Fire burned more than 13,920 acres of public and private land northeast of Grand Junction.

The destroyed vegetation created conditions prime for erosion, habitat loss and weed infestation.

This is the second reseeding operation concerning the fire.
