BLM Wants Public Opinion on Target Shooting on Public Land

by KREX News Room
by Daniel Phillips

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Many people enjoy target shooting on public land.

However, there are concerns of safety, particularly over target shooting close to high use recreation areas.

The BLM will be seeking people's opinions in a meeting Monday at the Courtyard Marriott along Horizon Drive in Grand Junction from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Grand Junction field office currently manages two developed shooting areas, but has over 1 million acres available for dispersed target shooting.
