LAKEWOOD, Colo. (BLM) - The Bureau of Land Management named Katie Stevens as Colorado's Grand Junction Field Manager. Katie has been BLM's National Conservation Area (NCA) Manager for McInnis Canyons since November 2008.

“Katie's extensive knowledge in resource management and her strong connection with the community will be an asset to the Grand Junction Field Office. We are fortunate to have her on our team and excited about her new role,” said Jim Cagney, BLM Colorado Northwest District manager.

Stevens was born and raised in Montana and lived there until she came to Grand Junction four years ago. She has been with the BLM for 12 years, working for eight years in the Montana State Office on land use planning, environmental compliance, energy, and sage-grouse issues prior to arriving in Grand Junction.

Stevens has a BA in Environmental Studies from Montana State University. Her professional interests include partnerships, community stewardship, and collaborative planning. Outside of work, she likes fly-fishing, reading and camping and hiking with her husband and dogs.
