GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Caring for Colorado is giving Hilltop another reason to lend a helping hand.
The foundation recently donated $35,000 to Hilltop's “B4 Babies & Beyond” program, which serves 47 percent of all pregnant women in Mesa County.
Officials say the program helps females and families gain access to affordable, quality health care coverage and information.
“Part of this grant will go for our ‘Baby and Me Tobacco Free’ program,” said Jackie Sievers, director of Child and Family Services. “This is a smoking sensation program for expecting moms. If they quit smoking during their pregnancy and continue to not smoke after, we provide them with diapers for up to a year for their new born baby.”
