Avalanche Blamed in the Death of Estes Park Man

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- An avalanche in Rocky Mountain National Park is being blamed for the death of 43-year-old Estes Park.

Park officials say a man and his female partner were caught in the slide Sunday evening near Blitzen Ridge.

Rangers started looking for the two yesterday after they were reported overdue from their trip.

They found 45-year-old Lisa Foster of Estes Park with Numerous injuries.

Park officials then discovered the remains of 43-year-old David Laurienti of Estes Park, who is believed to have died from injuries sustained during a fall during the slide.
