GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- As more kids learn the ins-and-outs of the internet, they may be exposed to plenty of potential safety hazardous.

The Mesa County Sheriff's office is teaming up with Crime Stoppers to provide parents with an informational meeting about internet safety for kids.

The class will cover how internet predators target our local kids and how parents can prevent this from happening by safeguarding their computers.

“We will talk about actual cases that we had here, “ said Chad Williams of the Mesa County Sherriff’s Office. “We plan to talk about what the kids did and mistakes that they made online that kind of exposed them to dangers and use them as learning experiences."

The meeting is scheduled to happen Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Grand Junction High School and is free to attend.
