MESA COUNTY, Colo.- NewsChannel 5 has the identities of two unrelated deaths that took place on the Colorado National Monument this week.
According to the Mesa County Coroner's office, Wayne Priddy, 71, of Euless, Texas was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday evening.
Priddy died of blunt-force injuries, and his death is ruled as accidental.
The Colorado State Patrol says Priddy's motorcycle went off the roadway, and down a culvert near the upper access point of the monument's Serpents Trailhead.
Authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs are factors in the crash.
Authorities also responded to a second incident this week that claimed the life of a 27 year-old male from Springfield, Virginia.
On Wednesday, Matt Moore crossed the safety railing at Cold Shiver's Point into an unsecure area, and fell to his death.
Moore died from multiple blunt force injuries, and the manner of his death is accidental.
