Authorities Discover Meth Lab in La Plata County

DURANGO, Colo.- A tip from a property owner leads investigators from the Southwest Drug Task Force and the DEA to a meth lab in southeastern La Plata County.
The property owner told authorities that the lab was located in an outbuilding on their property, and another person was in control of the outbuilding for several months.
Investigators discovered an inactive methamphetamine lab and seized chemicals, glassware and materials consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
No arrests were made.
Officials say charges will be based on the lab results and could include Manufacturing a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Manufacture a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and Possession of Chemicals/Supplies to Manufacture a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
The case is still under investigation.
