Man Wants to Change Child Sex Assault Guilty Plea

by KREX News Room

Montrose - A Montrose man who pleaded guilty to attempting to sexually assault on a child now wants to withdraw his plea. Leslie Phillips was originally being investigated for the sexual assault of a 2-year-old in a position of trust. Back in March, Phillips pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of attempted sexual assault on a child.

Clerks at the Montrose County Justice Center say Phillips had a motions hearing on Tuesday, during which he tried to withdraw his guilty plea.

The judge wanted more time to review the case. Phillips will be back in court September 19th for the judge's decision.

After seeing the other sex offenders just getting their hands slapped and walking away with probation and no jail time - guess he thinks he will walk away too! Its time to put these freaks behind bars for life! Stop messing around with our kids lives and do the right thing Judge!!!
