GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Saturday our community's senior citizens were treated with a special presentation that took them all the way to Hawaii, sort of.
Atrium of the Grand Valley hosted a Hawaiian luau celebration to raise money for outward bound, benefiting veterans.
Officials say they are honored to help our men and women who have sacrificed so much to serve this country.
"Holiday, our holding corporation, is sponsoring the Outward Bound project with $1.2 million dollars. We are just raising the funds in the communities. We've got 320 communities throughout the United States and Canada and we are delighted to support our veterans," said Christo Kotze, one of Atrium's managers.
Saturday afternoon's program featured a luau meal followed by entertainment from a Hawaiian singer as well as a performance from Polynesian dancers.
