Arizona Suspect Arrested In 1988 Mesa County Child Sex Assault Case

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- An Arizona man has been arrested 25 years after an alleged sexual assault on a child.

David Joe White was arrested by the Prescott Valley Police Department in Arizona four weeks ago on two felony warrants from Mesa County.

White has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child, including one count of sexual assault on a child while in a position of trust.

White was arrested by police after they were dispatched to a disorderly subject call. White's name was then put through a database in which his felony arrest warrants from 1988 appeared out of Mesa County.

Mesa County officials say once the charges are filed, there is no longer a statute of limitations for the case.

White has been transported to the Mesa County Jail and is being held on $8,000 bond, which was set back in 1988.
