AURORA, Colo.- An Aurora apartment building was engulfed in flames Monday night, killing two and injuring 15 others.

Officials say some people were hanging out of windows when firefighters arrived, and several residents were rescued with ladders from the four-story building. At least one person jumped to escape.

Firefighters are looking into a witness report that someone was seen leaving the building with a gas can.

The apartment complex is located near the University of Colorado's Medical Campus, which is the same place some victims of July's Aurora theater shooting were taken.
