Anti-Fossil Fuel Extraction Group Visits Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A group looking to raise grassroots organizing against fossil fuel extraction gave a presentation in Grand Junction Saturday afternoon.

The Beehive Design Collective is a volunteer group traveling across the country using art as a learning tool to talk to people about different community issues.

"We're really looking at communities that are facing different types of resource extraction, whether it's coal, oil and gas, or tar sand extraction. We travel between these different communities sharing these different stories people have shared with us about how that's impacting their lives and what folks are trying to do to adapt to these changing global situations," said Emma Bee with the Beehive Design Collective.

They say their artwork is based off of years of research, and along with the Rising Tide organization, they hope to increase awareness of the impacts of extracting those non-renewable resources.
