AmeriCorps Holds First ‘AmeriFair’
KREX News Room
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Nearly 100 people took part in Mesa County AmeriCorps’ very first AmeriFair on Wednesday.
Officials say their AmeriFair is similar to a job fair since they're currently looking for applicants for their upcoming year that starts in September.
These jobseekers had the chance to meet with host sites that they're interested in.
“AmeriCorps is a place where people get to help others,” said Angie Bertrand, coordinator at AmeriCrops. “They have an opportunity to get some information on their resume, they have an opportunity to get a scholarship, and a bit of a living allowance. So if people are in the right place for life, it’s a great opportunity .”
If you couldn’t make Wednesdays fair at still want to participate, you can put in an application for AmeriCorps at 1129 Colorado Ave, Grand Junction or call 242-4400.
