GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- After four years without it, aerial performers will be back in the Grand Valley and taking to the skies above the Grand Junction Regional Airport for the West Star Aviation Air Show.

The festivities start Friday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. The U.S. Navy's famous Blue Angels will be headlining the shows on Saturday and Sunday.

Nearly 20 aerial performers will be involved in the Air Show this year.

Tickets per person are $15 online or $20 dollars at the gate.

On Friday, children 12 and under get in free and on Saturday children 5 and under are free.

Parking is $10 per car each day; those passes are also available online or at the gate.

For more information visit www.gjairshow.com.

Also, due to the activity in the skies above the Grand Junction Regional Airport, nearby public lands will be closed during the Air Show.

Starting Thursday and running through Sunday, BLM lands will be closed three quarters of a mile parallel to the main airport runway from 27 1/4 Road to 30 Road.

The land will be closed to all motorized vehicles as well as those on foot.

The closure will allow for a safe zone for the event participants and visitors.

Parking too high? Take the GVT. It costs 1.50 per person, none for a baby
