GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Two structures were destroyed after a blaze broke out in Grand Junction Wednesday.

The incident happened around 1:20 p.m. at 2958 D 1/2 Road.

Grand Junction fire officials say they believe the fire started in a camper and spread to a nearby barn.

"This is kind of a classic example of this weather. In this heat, fires can spread pretty quickly and we really want to get a jump on them," said Grand Junction Fire Department spokesperson Mike Page.

No one was in either of the structures and none of the nearby horses on the property were hurt.

Both structures are considered total losses; the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
