After Shock Night Club Hopes to Strengthen Grand Valley

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A new business is opening up in Grand Junction in hopes of not only being a prime hub for entertainment, but also strengthening job growth in the Grand Valley.

After Shock Extreme Entertainment, located on 28 1/4 Road off of North Avenue, is a new night club opening up in Grand Junction on Friday night.

By hiring roughly 40 people and offering free limo rides to customers to avoid drinking and driving, the new night club hopes to help the Grand Valley in more ways than one.

"We're hiring employees from the Grand Valley and keeping them employed. We also want to use local vendors instead of using companies out of Denver. We're ordering paper goods and glassware here. Anything we need for our club will be purchased in the Grand Valley, so we can keep the money local," explained Mark McClure, After Shock's General Manager.

After Shock is also kicking off its grand opening Friday night with a special fundraiser running from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a $10 fee at the door. All the money will go towards the Mended Little Hearts program.

Starting Friday, After Shock will be open from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week.
