GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The case against a former Grand Junction police officer and firefighter accused of sexual assault on a child may head to court.

On Monday morning, Mesa County District Judge Thomas Deister found that there was enough evidence to move forward with all eight charges against 42-year-old Eric Janusz.

Janusz is accused of four counts of sexual assault on a child in a position of trust and four counts of sexual assault on a child in a position of trust with a pattern of abuse.

Mesa County court officials tell NewsChannel 5 Janusz is set for an arraignment hearing on Aug. 27, during which he will formally hear the charges against him, likely enter a plea and receive a trial date.
