you gun owners need to practice safe ownership of your firearms. children need your help to keep them safe. why make us all lose our guns over incidents like this? be responsible or sell your guns!

I agree with drhoecker. This is a tragedy that could have been prevented. So sad for the kids and angry at the "responsible" adult in the house.

Most of us Gun owners DO PRACTICE safety, BUT, KIDS being kids like to get into everything, only because the adults get the cops called on them for disciplining their children & try to teach right from wrong. You can thank the violent video games & the government telling us we do not have the brains to raise our children. I was raised in a home full of guns, and was taught at a very early age NOT TO TOUCH or get slapped. SO back up DR and get a look from both sides.

What you guys don't get is that the kids were not playing with the gun, for some stupid reason it was left in the hall way loaded and when the kids saw it, the little girl was trying to be responsible and put it away so her brother wouldn't get it, it went off in her hand, it was an accident that could have been prevented if the gun would have been put up but it shouldn't have been loaded in the first place, there mother was being irresponsible having it out at all. Thank God that he didnt loose his life over this. And may God be with his sister who blames herself for this horrible accident when it was her mothers fault not hers.

Ah, another anti-gun bandwagon idiot putting in his two cents. Enlighten us D.S., does your' scalpel make incisions by itself or does it require a hand to do the job? Do you always blame the tool or the individual wielding it?
