Accident Sends Woman to Hospital

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- An accident at a North Avenue intersection sent one woman to the hospital Saturday and shut down part of the road.

The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. at North Avenue and 12th Street.

Officials say a vehicle driving northbound on 12th Street attempted to make a left turn without enough time. That vehicle then hit another that was driving southbound.

The driver of the southbound car was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The accident shut down a portion of westbound lanes on North Avenue and southbound lanes on 12th Street for about an hour.
