AMGD Hosts City Council Candidate Forum

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Those seeking a spot on the Grand Junction City Council were put in the hot seat early Wednesday morning.

The Associated Members for Growth and Development hosted a candidate forum, where both veteran candidates and new opponents addressed questions from the public.

They spoke on how they plan to grow businesses and the housing industry within the city.

“The goal is to always find out what the candidates think about private property rights and how our money is being spent within the city,” said Lois Dunn, of the Grand Junction Area Realtors Legislative Committee.

The Associated Members for Growth and Development meet on the first Wednesday of every month, but this event was the first known candidate forum for the city council election.

Where does this group meet? Why was the forum not advertised until after it had occurred? Were the questions from "the public" or just their members?
