GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A new trail in Grand Junction is the first of its kind.

The Grand Valley Audubon Society has built a handicap accessible trail that allows those who are disabled or visually impaired to enjoy it.

The Grand Junction Lions Club donated four motion sensors, which are activated to allow those who are blind to hear about the trail they are at, in addition to different bird noises.

"It allows people to come into a wildlife area unassisted and be able to learn about what's here, and they'll be able to listen to the birds ," said Bob Wilson, member of the Grand Valley Audubon Society.

The trail is 700 feet long and ends up by the Colorado River.

The path is located just east of Connected Lakes State Park.
